Is it a station wagon? Is it a compact station wagon? It sort of looks like an Elantra, but it’s the newly revealed Hyundai i30 Tourer. The Tourer was highlighted at the Geneva Auto Show and is considered a Hyundai wagon.
Will it come to the U.S. auto shows? Will the i30 come to CardinaleWay Hyundai in Corona, California, your Hyundai California dealer? It’s anybody’s guess.
The i30 is already available overseas, but here in the States its closest sibling is the Hyundai Elantra GT. Though the #Hyundaii30 probably isn’t going to be sold in the United States, it’s predicted pricing would be in the low $20,000 range if it was. That would make for a very low Hyundai car payment. And who knows? It could happen.
Where Would A Wagon Fit In?
The i30 Tourer would be a coup to the Hyundai line of cars, that much is certain. It’s been five years since Hyundai has offered a wagon in America. That was the 2012 Hyundai Elantra wagon which offered a family friendly vehicle with lots of interior room and economy car sizing.
Under The Hood
The performance of the Hyundai i30 Tourer relies on its three powertrain options: A 138-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder and a 109-horsepower turbodiesel 4-cylinder for even better gas mileage. The Tourer is also offered in a 118-horsepower turbocharged 3-cylinder and manual or automatic transmissions.
