Wednesday, December 28th, 2016

Elantra 6

The Elantra GT gives you a solid value in the competitive compact hatchback segment.  While it’s about the same size as a Ford Focus or VW Golf, the Elantra has a much more roomy cargo area with up to 51 cubic feet of storage space. It also has a much more practical loading area than its rivals from Ford and Mazda. The 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT is a solid performer and probably is one of the best-equipped compact hatchbacks for the money.  Its heated and ventilated seats make is super comfortable to drive around, from longer highway trips to around-town shopping trips.

The power steering, powertrain and chassis give it a good grip on the road.  With its 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that delivers 173 horsepower, the Elantra GT is one of the best performing cars in its class.

The Elantra GT comes with lots of technology features including the optional upgraded Blue Link telematics and navigation systems. Blue Link was already one of the most responsive and easy-to-use in-car infotainment systems. The 2016 adds Google destination search along with Android smart watch integration. Hyundai says Apple watch compatibility is coming soon.

The 2016 Santa Fe Sport Ranked as One of the Top Crossovers

Tuesday, December 27th, 2016

hyundai santa fe

Crossovers or CUVs continue to gain in popularity. With their car-like driveability and functionality of a truck, it’s not a surprise that these vehicles appeal to city, suburban and country dwellers. CUVs have sleeker styling than SUVs and also get much better fuel economy. The reason is that while crossovers are built on a passenger car chassis, they also have the higher seating position, better view, more passenger space and larger cargo areas of a truck. Most CUVs are available with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option and advanced safety features for inclement weather. Hyundai’s 2016 Santa Fe Sport is ranked as one of the top ten crossovers selected by GAYOT.

The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is a handsome family car with lots of appeal. It’s fun to drive and comes packed with technology, such as an infotainment system with Hyundai’s Blue Link interface. Its suspension and steering have been retuned for a great road feel, and the 6-speed automatic transmission features an “Active ECO” mode that lets you switch between gas-saving and sporty settings.

All Santa Fe trim levels offer a good value and come packed with features. The top-of-the-line 2.0T AWD, for example, packs a 265-horsepower turbocharged inline-4, outperforming most of its rivals, including the more expensive BMW X1.

hyundai santa fe 2

Options for the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport are grouped into packages. The popular equipment package is found on nearly every model that you’ll find in showrooms. You’ll find the Blue Link telematics system, a rear-view camera and heated seats. The higher trims include a premium package, which adds leather, keyless entry and other luxury-car features such as dual zone automatic A/C and auto dimming mirrors. The Technology package gives you the full navigation and infotainment systems, making it as loaded as most BMW and Mercedes-Benz crossovers. It also includes a power liftgate, navigation and even a heated steering wheel.
Our experienced and knowledgeable team at CardinaleWay Hyundai is happy to answer your questions about the 2016 Santa Fe and Hyundai reliability, as well as any other vehicles at our dealership. 2016 Hyundai Sonata Makes GAYOT’s List of The Best Hybrid Vehicles For The Money

Monday, December 26th, 2016

Hyundai Sonata 1

Even though Ferdinand Porsche developed the Lohner-Porsche Mixte hybrid electric vehicle in 1900, the hybrid is no longer considered a novelty and is seen as a reliable alternative to conventionally-powered vehicles. Hybrids are offered in a variety of sizes, shapes and prices from luxury sedans to budget hatchbacks. Hyundai is pleased the its #SonataHybridLimited has made GAYOT’s list of The Best Hybrid Vehicles for the Money.

The 2016 Sonata hybrid is more roomy and sophisticated than previous generations of Sonatas. It also delivers a smooth quiet ride thanks to its solid chassis. The hybrid powertrain drives the front wheels with a new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gas engine in parallel with a 51-horsepower electric motor. A plug-in hybrid version is also available. It uses the same motor but with a larger battery pack to enable the vehicle to go for longer periods of electric driving. The switch from electric to gas power is barely noticeable, and both motors are very quiet.

The 2016 Sonata Hybrid Limited has an impressive EPA rating of 39 MPG city and 43 highway by the EPA. Acceleration is brisk for a hybrid (0 to 60 is 8 seconds), making it easy to keep up with traffic on most city and neighborhood streets without using the gas engine except to charge the battery.

Interior features include heated and cooled seats, a full leather interior, panoramic sunroof that tilts and slides. Safety features include collision warning and smart cruise control, to name just a few.

2018 Hyundai Sonata

The battery and powertrain are covered by a 10-year or 100,000-mile warranty. With a range of 650 miles, you can count on the Sonata for a family road trip or certainly lots of weekly routines.

2017 Tucson Eco SUV Crossover Features Modern Technology

Tuesday, December 20th, 2016

Hyundai Tuscon 2017

Great fuel economy, ease of driving, ample cargo space and all-wheel drive for wet conditions make the crossover SUV one of the most popular vehicles on the road today. Edmunds’ reviewers recently ranked the 2017 Hyundai Tucson as one of the top small crossover models on today’s market.

The 2017 got a redesign that makes it even more competitive. Upgrades include an increase in size and sophisticated new styling, as well as lots of the latest technology features. In addition to these upgrades, the 2017 Tucson is powered by a new turbocharged 1.6-liter engine.  The 2017 Tucson received the highest possible safety ratings from both the government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety when the optional crash-avoidance package is included.

If you’re looking for good fuel economy, the Eco has a top rating of 28 mpg combined (26 city/32 highway) with FWD and 27 mpg combined (25 city/30 highway) with AWD. The Sport and Limited estimates are 27 mpg combined (25 city/30 highway) with FWD and 25 mpg combined (24 city/28 highway) with AWD.

The 2017 Hyundai Tucson’s sporty ride quality is comfortable. It corners well and delivers a smooth quiet ride even on bumpy city roads. The base trim and Eco have a smoother ride with their 17-inch wheels, but the 19-inch wheels, standard on Sport and Limited, also deliver a good ride. The Tucson is also easy to maneuver in small places.

2016 Hyundai Tucson Compact Crossover Eco Model Offers Great Fuel Economy

Wednesday, December 14th, 2016

Hyundai Tuscon 2017

The Eco offers a significant fuel-economy advantage over the other Tucsons in Hyundai’s lineup.  The #2016TucsonEco uses the high-end 175-hp 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The base SE has a 164-hp 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic. The all-wheel-drive Eco test car is nearly 200 pounds lighter than the Tucson Limited. In addition, its smaller 17-inch wheels and tires offer lower rolling resistance than the 19-inch wheels on the Sport and Limited. The lighter weight and lower rolling resistance results in the highest EPA fuel-economy rating estimates in the Tucson lineup.  In front-wheel-drive, the Eco is rated at 26 mpg city and 33 mpg highway; with all-wheel drive, it gets 25/31 mpg. These numbers range from 2 to 5 mpg better than the SE and 1 to 3 mpg better than those of the Sport and Limited with the same powertrain.

The lighter vehicle weight also means the Eco accelerates more quickly and corners better than the heavier models.  The ride is comfortable, secure and quiet. The interior is roomy enough for passengers to stretch out in the back seat. Since the cargo area doesn’t have any obstructions, it’s extremely useful.

hyundai tuscon

In addition to being the most fuel-efficient Tucson, it’s also the least expensive way to get the turbocharged engine and dual-clutch automatic transmission. All in all, it a great value for the money. It also comes with Hyundai’s great warranty and the security of Hyundai reliability.

The experienced and knowledgeable team at CardinaleWay Hyundai looks forward to answering your questions about the 2016 Tucson Eco, as well as any other vehicles at our dealership. 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport and Eco

Tuesday, December 13th, 2016

shutterstock_402054145

The #2017ElantraSport is Hyundai’s sporty new affordable compact that will compete with Volkswagen’s GTI, Honda’s soon to be released next-gen Civic Si and Ford’s Focus ST. The sporty Elantra Sport Eco is expected to get a fuel economy rating of 40 mpg.

The Elantra features a sophisticated sporty design outside and inside. For more power, Hyundai’s turbocharged, direct-injected 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine replaces the regular Elantra’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.  The new engine produces more than 200 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. The fuel-efficient Eco also has a turbocharged engine with a 128-hp 1.4-liter turbo. Unlike other efficiency packages that rely solely on ultra-low-rolling-resistance tires and small aerodynamic tweaks to achieve a high fuel economy rating, Hyundai has given the Elantra Eco a complete powertrain transplant. The Eco also has a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that provides quicker shifting and improved efficiency, replacing the Elantra’s conventional torque-converter six-speed automatic transmission.
Hyundai is doing its part to save manual transmissions! The Sport and Eco both offer a six-speed manual transmission in addition to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters. The Sport comes with front-wheel drive with a rear end multilink independent suspension. Replacing the non-Sport Elantra’s twist-beam axle, the new suspension design should offer more controlled dynamics and provides a smoother ride even over bumps.
