Hyundai Proudly Made In America

Monday, October 31st, 2016

shutterstock_402054145

You think of Hyundai and think of the Korean automobile manufacturing company, but did you know that over half the cars sold in the U.S. are made here?  That’s right.  In Montgomery, Alabama, #Hyundai has a sophisticated manufacturing facility.  In Michigan, you will find engineering facilities and in California, Hyundai has invested in  impressive design and research centers, as well as testing grounds.  As a result, some of the best-built cars in the business are produced and about 94,000 American jobs created!

At the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Alabama, each Hyundai vehicle is born from sheet metal that is then transformed into an auto in 19 hours! The Montgomery facility is one of the most advanced in the world.  The International Automotive Task Force has applied the most rigid quality management standard to the facility and it’s been recognized with ISO/TS 16949 certification, And has provided jobs for over 2,700 Alabama residents and over $3.8 billion to the state’s economy annually.

Building better cars isn’t easy, but Hyundai is doing just that. Did you know that Hyundai is the only car company with their own steel plant allowing them to tailor alloys to their own exacting specs to produce advanced forms of steel? Stronger yet lighter weight steel improves safety and fuel efficiency.  Thanks to an innovative, one-of-a-kind paint dipping process combined with special compounds, Hyundai can produce a finish that protects against corrosion, rust and helps scratches to heal. And they test their vehicles like crazy! They subject vehicles to brutal temperature conditions as well as crash testing over 100 cars prior to final production to ensure every measure of safety has been addressed.

At CardinaleWay Hyundai, we are proud of the quality and selection of our Hyundai vehicles.  Let us find the perfect Hyundai for you.  Stop by for a test drive.

A Hatchback Renaissance. Who Knew?

Hyundai Renaissance

Did you know there was a hatchback renaissance going on?  Much like movie critics, car critics have been unlikely to embrace what the masses find appealing, but America is feeling the love for the hatchback. And the 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT is one of the adored hatchbacks!

No longer a basic box on wheels, today’s affordable-hatchback segment is full of options.  They are sexy and come laden with all of the latest technology.  And the sexiest of them all in the hatchback arena is the #HyundaiElantraGT.  It’s not your mom’s hatchback, that is for sure!

The Elantra GT can trace its roots back to the Euro-market Hyundai i30 hatchback.  The Elantra GT is built for sportier handling with a shorter wheelbase than the Elantra sedan. Unlike the sedan’s bare-bones base model, the base Elantra GT comes with generous cargo space and a plethora of equipment with even more available via the two package options.  And of course, you can’t overlook the Elantra GT’s good looks and attractive price tag of about $19,800!

Standard items on the Elantra GT include 16-inch alloy wheels, a trip computer, air conditioning, a tilt-telescopic steering wheel, driver-selectable steering effort, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, full power accessories, cruise control and a 6-speaker audio system with satellite radio and Bluetooth/USB connectivity.  Elantra GT comes with standard stability control, 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and seven airbags. Quite a standard package!

The 2016 Elantra GT is ready for a test drive at CardinaleWay Hyundai along with a great selection of all Hyundai models both new and pre-owned.  Stop by and take a drive!

Hyundai and Alexa Hook-Up

Tuesday, October 25th, 2016

Hyundai Genesis Interior

Alexa and Genesis G80 and G90 owners are now BFF’s.  Hyundai has integrated Amazon’s Alexa with its connected services.  They are the first automaker to allow for remote voice commands to control their line of Genesis cars.

#G80 and #G90 drivers will be able to utilize remote-control car functions from the office, home, wherever.  Imagine before leaving for work in the morning telling your Alexa-enabled device to unlock your car or turn on the headlights.  Pretty cool and convenient.

The Alexa feature built into Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap and Fire TV can be linked with the G80 and the G90. The system offers remote door locking/unlocking, remote engine starting with climate control, and remote horn/lights control. To send commands to autos via #Alexa, users will enable the Genesis skill in their Alexa app available on iOS, Android and Fire tablets, linking their existing connected-services account within the Alexa app.

U.S. General Manager of Genesis Erwin Raphael says the Amazon Alexa skill demonstrates the carmaker’s progressive commitment to technology that is intuitive and customer-focused. “It aligns with our belief that time and convenience are the ultimate luxuries,” he says. “From remotely locking your car from your living room to starting your G90 and setting the temperature from your bedroom, the Alexa skill for Genesis offers a new level of ease for owners.”

And some great news: Genesis G90 owners will receive a complimentary Amazon gift card that can be applied toward an Amazon Echo and vehicles are equipped with three years of complimentary connected-car services.

Find out more about the Genesis G80 and G90, along with an incredible selection of new and pre-owned #Hyundais at CardinaleWay Hyundai.  We’ve got the perfect vehicle for you.

Smartphones In Autos Charging Ahead

Monday, October 24th, 2016

Hyundai 2

Remember the first time you rode in a car with a phone?  It was a cool but odd feeling to be speaking to someone on a phone in the car.  My how far things have come.  In the past decade, automakers have been focused on increasing connectivity in their vehicles. Today, most car buyers expect technology in a car.  It’s really no longer an option.

Laird, a global technology company specializing in wireless applications, says we shouldn’t throw out our charging cables just yet, but significant improvement for battery life is on the horizon.  It’s estimated that by 2020 there will be about 6.1 billion smartphones worldwide and better solutions for charging them will be expected. Laird also states that about 70% of people use their smartphone while driving.  This usage not only includes talking and texting, but GPS navigation, streaming music from apps like Pandora or vehicle manufacturer information look-up apps.

Noticeably, carmakers have attended to this increase by adding more power outlets and USB ports to today’s new cars.  An improvement for sure, but not the optimum solution.  We still need to keep up with charging hardware and fight a maze of wires.  What if all you had to do was to place a smartphone equipped for wireless charging on a compatible charging pad and that pad was in your car?  Better, right?   Stay tuned as the future unfolds.  Consumers will require better power options for their devices everywhere they go.  Automakers are paying attention.

Need a great car today?  Come check out our incredible selection of new and pre-owned #Hyundais at CardinaleWay Hyundai.  We’ve got the perfect vehicle for you.

A Review Of The Hyundai 2017 Genesis G90

Thursday, October 20th, 2016

Hyundai Genesis

If you’re thinking about buying a new car and have a budget between $60-70,000, then look no further than the 2017 Genesis G90. The G90 is a Mercedes-Benz S-Class-sized car that defines luxury and performance!

Absolutely every feature and device you can think of comes standard on the G90. Smart cruise control, a 360-degree parking camera, lane keep assist, power side and rear window shades and a 17-speaker Lexicon audio system are all standard.

You can choose between two available engines: a 5.0-liter V8 and a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6.  Most buyers choose the turbo V6.  It’s very powerful.  But if you’re really wanting the sound and feel of a traditional large sedan, the V8 is a great choice. The G90 is rear-wheel drive, You can, however, get all-wheel drive if that is your preference.

Handling is solid and more than comfortable for everyday driving for a car the size of the #Hyundai2017GenesisG90.  Inside, switches and gauges are appealing and appropriate for a luxury sedan. The seats are very comfortable with the driver’s seat offering a 22-way adjustment.

And here is a real wow!  The Genesis G90 includes standard services like three years of scheduled maintenance, a valet service that picks up and returns your car when serviced, SiriusXM Travel Link and free map updates and roadside assistance.

At CardinaleWay Hyundai, we can help you find just the right Hyundai for you.  Come take a look at our wide array of new and certified pre-owned autos. We want to be your dealership!

The 2016 Hyundai Azera Is Classy And Smart

Tuesday, October 18th, 2016

Hyundai Azera 2

The 2016 Hyundai Azera has the “it” factor.  Admired and sought after for its great looks and smarts, Hyundai has perfected every exterior and interior feature and has made Azera a smarter car by adding Blue Link® and a standard 8-inch touchscreen navigation. The technology offered with the Azera would be the envy of any geek!

Azera’s power and get up and go is impressive.  The V6 engine delivers more standard horsepower than Toyota Avalon and Ford Taurus. It leaves more expensive luxury cars like the Lexus ES 350 in its dust with a standard 293 horsepower engine.

The #2016HyundaiAzera has as a standard feature Proximity Key which enables the trunk to open hands free when it senses you are behind the vehicle within three feet for more than three seconds.  Azera’s available rear parking sensors make backing up safe and easy. Rear bumper sensors give you an audible warning when objects are detected behind your vehicle.  Also standard on Azera is Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross-traffic Alert.  Azera’s nine airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, are also standard. With Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning in the mix, Azera is one safe and impressive car.

The 2016 Hyundai Azera, along with a wide array of new and certified pre-owned autos, is available for a test drive at CardinaleWay Hyundai.  Come see us!  You can also check out our inventory on line.

The Money Factor

Monday, October 17th, 2016

shutterstock_402054145

If you’ve been investigating leasing a car, you’ve possibly heard the term “money factor” mentioned. The car-leasing process is full of complicated terms and the money factor term is one of those.  So what exactly is the money factor?

The term “money factor” refers to the interest rate attached to a car lease, although it isn’t expressed in the same way. The money factor on a lease is typically written using an extremely small decimal, such as 0.00167 — and sometimes it’s not written at all. Drivers with leased cars rarely know what their money factor is, and they don’t ask about it when signing the lease papers.

The dealer or automaker leasing a car is charging you for the privilege of doing so.  Many think leasing just means paying the depreciation of a vehicle, but that’s not the full picture.  A finance charge is included in every lease and that finance charge, the money factor, will impact monthly payments.

To calculate your lease’s interest rate, multiply the money factor by 2,400. Mentioned earlier, a 0.00167 money factor translates to a 4 percent interest rate — and a higher monthly payment vs a money factor of, say, 0.0008, which is roughly a 2 percent interest rate.

Always ask about the money factor prior to signing a lease. Beware of a salesperson that says to just move over the money factor’s decimal point to get the interest rate. If the rate you see is higher than you’re expecting, negotiate a lower money factor or step away and go elsewhere to find a better deal.

CardinaleWay Hyundai has a wide array of new and certified pre-owned autos for purchase or lease.  Come take a test drive and drive away with a great deal!

The 2013 Hyundai Accent—A Great Used Car Option

Thursday, October 13th, 2016

Hyundai 3

Sometimes buying a brand new car is not an option.  Yet buying a used car can be concerning.  If this sounds like your situation, consider a pre-owned 2013 Hyundai Accent.  It’s a great used-car value, delivering practicality, fuel efficiency and stylish flair.

The 2013 Hyundai Accent was one of the best-selling subcompacts of its model year, so there should be a decent supply of them available for purchase at moderate prices. The Accent is one of the most fuel-efficient small cars in its class and has good J.D. Power scores.

The #2013HyundaiAccent is available as a 4-door sedan or a 5-door hatchback that offers 21.2 cu ft. of cargo space behind the rear seats and 47.5 cu ft. with the rear seat folded down.  Standard features on the GLS sedan include keyless entry, a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo with SiriusXM radio, an iPod/USB port and air conditioning. The top-of-the-line SE hatchback gets standard side-mirror turn-signal repeaters and an optional power sunroof. All models have a 138-horsepower 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers class-leading fuel economy.  An Active ECO feature, when activated by the driver, modifies throttle response and automatic shifting to optimize fuel economy.

Standard safety features for the 2013 Hyundai Accent include a tire-pressure monitoring system, electronic stability and traction control, 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, dual front airbags, front-seat side airbags and front and rear overhead airbags.  All 2013 Accent models are equipped with front-wheel drive.

To get a good idea of the 2013 Accent’s price range, check out KBB.com.  Come see us at CardinaleWay Hyundai to test drive a 2013 Accent or any of our other certified, pre-owned vehicles.

Are You Ready To Let Your Car Do The Driving?

Wednesday, October 12th, 2016

shutterstock_402054145

You aren’t alone if you are hesitant to put your trust in self-driving cars.  According to a survey conducted by AAA, a nonprofit motoring organization, only one out of five people would trust their car to do all of the driving.  Three out of four people admitted to being afraid to ride along in a self-driving car.

Driving a car is a huge responsibility with lives on the line, so anxiety over relinquishing control with stakes this high are understandable.  However, per AAA, people who own cars with some semi-autonomous features like adaptive cruise control and forward-emergency braking, are 75 percent more likely to trust autonomous technology than those who have never experienced it.

Although anxious about the idea of a self-driving vehicle, a majority of consumers are comfortable with some semi-autonomous features, and nearly two thirds of those surveyed admitted to wanting at least one semi-autonomous feature on their next car. Lane-keep assist (41 percent), adaptive cruise control (40 percent), automatic emergency braking (39 percent) and self-parking technology (25 percent) were the most lusted-after features among survey respondents who expressed a desire for semi-autonomous technology in a future car.

Most experts point out the technological and logistical hurdles as the main reasons why self-driving vehicles are probably years, if not decades, away from being mainstream.  Selling the public on turning over the reins of their vehicles to computers may be a much bigger hill to climb than anyone thought.

In the meantime, drive yourself over to CardinaleWay Hyundai to explore our extensive selection of new and certified pre-owned Hyundais.

Hyundai A Household Name In The U.S.A.

Monday, October 10th, 2016

Hyundai 1 HND-14 Concept Debuting at the 2016 Auto Expo

It seems like just yesterday Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai entered the U.S. automobile market offering innovative, high-quality vehicles at affordable prices.  25 years has flown by, and now, Hyundai is a household word in America.

Hyundai’s entry into the U.S. market in 1986 was ideally timed.  The entry-level market was out of favor in the mid-eighties.  Most automobile manufacturers were more interested and invested in selling high-end, high-priced vehicles. First-time car buyers like college students and young families weren’t able to find value-equipped cars that met their needs priced within their economic means.

Enter the Hyundai subcompact Excel model. The Excel was an immediate hit when it was introduced to the U.S. market in 1986. In just seven months, Hyundai Motor America sold 100,000 Excels with year end sales numbering 168,882 units – an industry record for an import car distributor in its first year!  #Hyundai sales continued to impress, reaching a record of 263,610 units in 1987.  And all of this was achieved with dealers located in only 31 of the 50 states!  Hyundai proved they were here to stay and ready to play in the U.S.A.

Today, Hyundai remains a force to be reckoned with in the U.S. market with intentions to grow and innovate in the luxury and hybrid market segments.  And continue to beat the competition by offering affordable, high-quality vehicles. Let CardinaleWay Hyundai, one of the 800 Hyundai dealerships nationwide, show you a Hyundai that meets your needs and budget.
