2017-Elantra-01-Electric_Blue

At long last Hyundai has finally acted on the complaints on the weak structure of most of their cars. The Elantra of 2017 is built from sturdier suspension and material. It is the days of the past when the car shook with every turbulence and road unevenness.

Those who’ve had the exclusive opportunity to test out the car exclaim that sitting within the car with your eyes closed will blanket you in a blissfully unaware state of external road conditions. Impressively the car is also highly fuel efficient. Instruments in the interior are clustered and it is hard not to reminisce on the vintage BMW styling.

Safety is not left unconsidered- regardless of the speed, the car corners curves with controlled precision and drift angles. Pushing on the sport/eco button will send the car flying down the road without the sudden surge of backward thrust. Nothing comes close to the braking distance of the Elantra at 166ft- surely applaud worthy.

Fitting into the league of mid-sized mini, Elantra offers the buyer the luxuries of a vehicle larger in size without the unnecessary girth. The amenities included are the lane assist, cruise control which is radar assisted and in-motion HID headlamps.

In the market dominated by hatchbacks, the reaction to the debut of an old favorite is hard to predict. But, Elantra was a favorite back then and hopefully not much would have changed by 2017. For more information on the Elantra Sport, visit Hyundai of Corona.

Roundup of the Elantra Sport 2017- Part2

2017-Elantra-01-Electric_Blue

If the exteriors of Elantra Sport hint at being classy, the interiors are effortlessly luxurious. The sport seats and the flat steering wheel add to the zippy feel of the car. Going through the specifications, in theory at least it seems like Hyundai has extended the term ‘sporty’ to the engine as well. Replacing the old engine of 2.0L and quadra cylinder is the 1.6L turbocharged which churns out a monster 190 lb-ft torque above 200rpm.

More details on the performance and engine specifications will be released in September, closer to the launch of the car. Although the engine is smaller than it competitors in the same segment, the Elantra Sport is pitted as an equal owing to higher horsepower and torque as compared to the conventional 2.0L engines.

Apart from the Elantra Sport, the engine of the Eco, a budget fuel efficient car is also set for an upgrade to turbocharged, four cylinder 1.4L variant for the manual transmission version.

Hyundai is an active supporter of the ‘Save the Manual’ campaign. Being so, the Sport will be available in two variants- manual with six speed and automatic with a dual-clutch seven speed.

Watching closely the series of upgrades of the Hyundai cars it can be said that unlike other car manufacturers, each new upgrade is not a step-up but a leap towards the No 1 position.

Roundup of the Elantra Sport 2017- Part1

Monday, July 25th, 2016

2017-Elantra-01-Electric_Blue

Don’t have to hold your breath no longer for the Elantra is slated for release in the US, next year. This news follows the teaser of a Sport variant of the car in Korea. Now, Hyundai released a statement confirming the imminent arrival of Elantra sports to the domestic market. It can be concluded that the Elantra for the US market is the same as the Korean Avante and the sport is similar to Avante sport.

Although, given it delay in release, Elantra might have lost a few takers but the soon to be released Elantra Sport will create a ripple in the market of Ford Focus ST, Volkswagen GTI and next generation Hyundai Civic. Even though the Veloster Turbo is available in U.S many cringe from owning one given its unconventional asymmetric doors and poor drive feel.

However, the 2017 Elantra is anything but unattractive. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call the car handsome. The headlights and grille is retained from the older model while the cheekbones are accentuated. The unassuming body kit curves around a shiny aluminum wheel with 20 spokes. One design element that is evident is the absence of a spoiler. As a result the car looks like a sleek GTI rather than a punk-mobile with loud speed suggestive accessories.

The theme of the car seems to revolve around ‘subtlety’ spilling out in every exterior and interior detailing. For more information on the Elantra Sport, visit Hyundai of Corona.

The Hyundai Exoskeleton – All you Need to Know – Part 2

Friday, July 22nd, 2016

Exoskeleton

You may wonder why it matters if a company develops an exoskeleton suit. What exactly can you use it for? Can you really picture yourself wearing such a suit? There is more to the suit than what meets the eye.

The Iron Man suit and similar contraptions have a strong appeal, thanks to action-packed Hollywood movies. Dreams of lifting cars and flipping them over easily take over when watching them play out on screen. Imagine if you could do it in real life. With the Hyundai Exoskeleton, your dream can soon become a reality.

Action-fantasy aside, the suit can be used for a number of practical purposes. The exoskeleton can help people with physical disabilities or paralysis function normally. They can enjoy a more fulfilling life because of the suit. It can also be used in production facilities to cut down time and effort of workers improving productivity and quality.

Hyundai isn’t the only company developing exoskeleton suit technology. Another automaker who is already working on such a technology is Audi. The folks at Audi are in the process of creating what they call a “chairless chair”, a carbon fiber exoskeleton, weighing about 5 pounds, where a worker is able to sit in mid-air. Not only automobile companies even others outside the industry such as Lockheed Martin and Panasonic are dabbling in this technology.

When companies like Hyundai and Audi develop technologies such as the exoskeleton suit, they have to keep in mind the positive and negative outcomes. They have to ensure the pros trump the cons and benefit the real world immensely.

The Hyundai Exoskeleton – All you Need to Know – Part 1

Wednesday, July 20th, 2016

Exoskeleton

When Hyundai showcased the Hyundai Lifecaring ExoSkeleton (H-LEX) in 2015, it sent a strong message that the company is more than just an automobile manufacturer. The Korean company has ensured its efforts go beyond the automotive industry by looking at technologies beyond its native scope. Hyundai has now come up with a modified and lighter prototype of the H-LEX with improved functionality.

The newly developed exoskeleton suit functions like the H-LEX but will be a lighter version. Thus, the suit will be easier to wear and use. The Iron Man suits have baffled many with their capabilities. Emulating the same can become quite a challenge. The Hyundai Exoskeleton aims to match up to the Iron Man suits, both in function and weight.

Marvel fans and followers of the Iron Man character can gauge the multiple uses of the suit. It packs in a myriad of weapons and also acts as a transportation device. Strength is another feature that the suit provides to the character. The Hyundai prototype, however, the automaker claims, can do that already.

What the company is looking towards is the application of the exoskeleton in real world scenarios. Hyundai wants the suit to be a practical component for the military as well as capable of mass production rather than keep it restricted to its R&D division. If the exoskeleton is developed with all the features it claims, there can be a number of long-term applications for it in different industries.

If you want to know more about the Hyundai Exoskeleton or keep up with future developments at Hyundai, speak to the experts at CardinaleWay Hyundai in California.

Hyundai to Come Out with Fully Electric Genesis

Monday, July 18th, 2016

Genesis

Hyundai hasn’t been in the luxury car market for a long time. However, the speed with which it produced two production models within a short span of time tells you the automaker means business.

With electric cars, you hardly see a classy polish because they are mostly about functionality. Even then, there is a limit to their power because most luxury all-electric cars such as the BMW i3 and the Chevy Bolt have limited range. Hyundai will have to bridge the gap between class and function, producing a car which puts it on top of the leader board.

It is a bold but highly risky move from the Korean carmaker to invest time, resources, and money into building an all-electric luxury car. There’s no stopping its innovative drive, even if it’s a novice in the industry. This is evident by the fact that the Genesis has already begun to take shape.

Hyundai has to keep in mind that electrification is a process which should be well thought out, especially when it comes to luxury cars. It can best its competitors by taking the time to flesh out an electric drivetrain with a range of at least 300 miles. This will secure its place among the top in the market and diversify its clientele.

The technology for electrifying cars has been around for a number of years now; the only challenge is to apply it wisely. If Hyundai does succeed in upgrading the Genesis, it would make the company a valuable player in the automobile industry.

Next Generation Hyundai I30 Caught With Camouflage

Friday, July 15th, 2016

i30

Though there have been plenty of pictures of the Hyundai I30 earlier, all of them had disguised or heavily camouflaged a few of its cue lines. However, some recent pictures have revealed what the new generation I30 will look like.

This particular I30 was discovered hauling a small-sized trailer at the Alps and it appeared that it was being done to test the model’s powertrain. As of now, there are no details of the details of the powertrain possessed by this specific model. It is also observed that the vehicle is a single exhaust hence it could be still the 2.0 Not Applicable.

A new facelift has been given to the vehicle’s front and though it was known earlier too, this time it could be clearly seen devoid of the heavy camouflage.

A fresh bumper design along with a smaller grill has the earlier design but its proportions are much smaller. However, its emblem has been made much bigger this time around.

I30’s headlights have also been updated and their sizes have been reduced in comparison to its earlier generation. There are two new projectors right next to the vehicle’s high beam shroud. Even the fog light of the vehicle has given an entirely fresh look and design. It combines the fog light on its bottom and the DRL on its right side.

The rear occupants of an I30 are likely to have greater headroom as compared to its previous generation vehicles since the roof line and the window size have been altered.

Hyundai’s new generation of Elantra GT/I30 is supposed to be unveiled by 2017.
