2016-hyundai-tucson-ext-09-chromium-silver-download

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson won the Driver’s Choice Award for Motorweek in the Best Utility Vehicle category. The award was presented at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. Motorweek is one of the longest running automotive television series and is aired on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service), Velocity, Discovery Network, V-me, and AFN (American Forces Network) globally. Motorweek has been presenting Driver’s Choice awards annually since 1983 and is generally presented in the month of February during the Chicago Auto Show. Getting a Driver’s Choice Award is one of the most prestigious honors a vehicle and its maker can get within the automotive industry.

John H. Davis, the creator, executive producer, and the host of Motorweek said that the redesigned Tucson from Hyundai is better equipped than any of its direct rivals. It also has a fresh look. Brandon Ramirez, the senior group manager for HMG (Hyundai Motor America) Product Planning, said that this recognition from Motorweek distinguishes the Tucson from all the other SUVs for its advanced technological and safety features, along with its affordability. He further said that Hyundai is committed to building SUVs that are affordable, fuel efficient, and performance driven.

Motorweek evaluates vehicles from the view of a consumer, that is, the vehicles are evaluated based on their price, performance, practicality, and fuel efficiency. The editorial staff of the Motorweek will then choose the top models based on a number of lifestyle categories. From those top vehicles, the ‘Best of the Year’ winners are chosen.

Hyundai Fuel Cell Cars Rake up over a Million Miles

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016

Hydrogren Car

The zero-emission, hydrogen-powered Tucson Fuel Cell vehicles from Hyundai have managed to surpass an iconic threshold. They accumulated more than 1 million clean miles on the highways and roads of Southern California. They emitted only clean water and managed to replace around 385 tons of carbon dioxide emissions that would have been emitted from similar sized vehicles. Hyundai takes periodic mileage updates from Tucson fuel cell vehicle owners, with their permission. Tucson Fuel Cell crossovers were first introduced in the American automotive market in the year 2014. Since then, Hyundai has delivered around a thousand Tucson crossovers. It is the first fuel cell crossover that has been mass produced in the United States.

Some of the advantages of Tucson Fuel Cell CUVs over others include:

  • The energy-packed hydrogen fuel has the ability to provide a driving range of 265 miles on one go, just like many of the other vehicles run on gasoline.
  • Extreme cold or hot temperatures will only minimally affect the performance of the vehicle and its fuel efficiency.
  • Refilling of hydrogen fuel can be done in a matter of minutes, just like that of a typical gasoline vehicle.
  • The fuel cell vehicles are totally production scalable because of their low-weight fuel cell stack design. They are also very compact.

Mike O’Brien, VP of HMA (Hyundai Motor America) Corporate and Product Planning, said that the 1 million mark has given them new vision into the potential of fuel cell vehicles. He said that the Tucson Fuel Cell CUVs achieving the 1 million mark this quickly has amazed them and that the future potential of zero-emissions hydrogen vehicles is unlimited.

You can visit CardinaleWay Hyundai to check out the Tucson fuel cell CUV.

The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Performance Specs

Wednesday, March 16th, 2016

2016-hyundai-sonata-hybrid-ext-13-LED-tail-lights-download

2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is powered by a newly designed 2L 4-cylinder engine. It uses regular gasoline to run and provides GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) for efficient and smooth acceleration. The efficient cruising results in improved fuel economy. The engine is integrated with an electric motor. It generates a power of 193 horsepower. The car features a 6-speed automatic transmission. Energy generated from regenerative braking is stored in a lithium-ion battery pack mounted in the trunk. The EPA-estimated fuel economy for the SE is 40 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway, 42 mpg combined. For the Limited, it is 39 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway, 41 mpg combined.

The lithium-ion battery used by the new Sonata Hybrid is one of the most efficient batteries available in the market today. It uses a polymer gel as the electrolyte. This allows for a lighter and thinner casing. It means more interior volume. The battery discharge is also much slower than other batteries, in order to maintain the available power for a long time. Sonata Hybrid uses a fully integrated HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system. It helps to provide optimum power. The car switches seamlessly between electric mode and gasoline mode in order to deliver power efficiently. Primary charge energy is delivered to the lithium battery by the gasoline engine. Supplemental energy is delivered via regenerative braking system.

Sonata Hybrid features DMS (Drive Mode Select). You have the option to choose from 3 modes. Sport, Normal or Eco. DMS adjusts the transmission, steering calibration, and the engine to optimize your driving style.
