Fuel-efficiency is outstanding. The 2021 Hyundai Sonata gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating up to 28 mpg city/39 mpg highway for the SE trim with the base four-cylinder unit.* The Sonata Hybrid gets up to 50 mpg city/54 mpg highway. Hyundai is known for loading up its vehicles with standard features, even on the base models. The 2021 Sonata SE comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an audio system with six speakers. The SEL can get a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster as part of the available Convenience package, which also includes Hyundai’s new Digital Key. This tech feature allows the driver to use a smartphone app to remotely access some of the vehicle’s functions and to lock and unlock the car.
