Automotive Press Praise
Kelley Blue Book gave the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid high marks, writing: “From behind the wheel, the 2020 Ioniq Hybrid is refined and comfortable with few indications that its complex powertrain is using both an electric motor and a gasoline-powered internal-combustion engine to get you down the road. Basically, it feels like a regular compact car, and that’s a good thing.”
The 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is offered in four trim levels: Blue, SE, SEL and Limited. The Ioniq Hybrid is equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a 32-kW electric motor that generates a total output of 139 horsepower. The standard transmission is a six-speed automatic, which is a change from the continuously variable transmission found in most hybrids. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the Ioniq Hybrid Blue trim is rated at 57 mpg city/59 mpg highway.* The other trims return 55 mpg city/54 mpg highway.
While Ioniq Hybrid drivers will enjoy exceptional fuel economy, Hyundai designed this vehicle to be fun to drive. Handling is outstanding, thanks to the low center of gravity resulting from the battery placement, as well as the Ioniq Hybrid’s multi-link rear suspension.
Standard features on the base Ioniq Hybrid Blue trim include 15-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, power side mirrors, power windows, power locks, automatic high beams, automatic headlight control, a tilt/telescopic steering column, manually height-adjustable driver's and passenger seats, 60/40-split folding rear seats, proximity key entry, push-button start, a rear window defroster, a rearview camera, cruise control and regenerative brake paddles. Also standard are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-inch color touchscreen and Bluetooth. Standard driver-assistance features include lane-keeping assist, forward-collision avoidance and a driver-attention monitor.
The Ioniq Hybrid SE adds heated side mirrors, a power driver's seat, heated front seats, a blind spot monitoring system and Hyundai Blue Link services.
The Ioniq Hybrid SEL starts with the features of the SE and adds LED headlights and taillights, a power sunroof, forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-follow assist and a wireless charging pad.
The Ioniq Hybrid Limited gets leather seating, front and rear parking sensors, highway drive assist, LED interior lighting, power folding side mirrors with puddle lamps, rear vents, driver's seat memory, a 4.2-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, and a Harman Kardon premium stereo system.
