Nice Suspension For Comfort

Suspension duties are handled by MacPherson struts in the front, while the rear gets a specially tuned torsion-beam rear axle. This setup delivers a smooth ride, even when the Elantra drives over bumps in the road. All Elantra models feature a standard six-way driver’s seat, and most models get standard cloth seats. Opt for the Limited trim and you’ll be treated to a power driver’s seat and leather upholstery. The top-line Sport trim comes with standard bucket seats and front bolsters.

The 2019 Hyundai Elantra seats five passengers and comes in six trim levels, listed as SE, SEL, Value Edition, Eco, Limited and Sport. Front-wheel drive is standard across the lineup. There are three engines on offer, depending on the trim level:

  • The SE, SEL and Limited get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that develops 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, paired to a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic.
  • The Eco is powered by a 1.4-liter turbo-four that makes 128 hp and 156 lb-ft, teamed to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
  • The Sport employs a 1.6-liter turbo-four that puts out 201 hp and 195 lb-ft, connected to a six-speed manual transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

  • Hyundai’s AVN 5.0 infotainment setup now has an optional 8-inch display, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available. The Elantra’s radio is now more user-friendly, with easy to use presets that allow the driver to change stations at the touch of a button.
